Marion County Children & Families Commission
History
The 1993 Oregon Legislature created the Oregon Commission on Children & Families (OCCF) because it recognized a need for a system where government, service providers, non-profits, communities and families could work together to help families become healthier and more self-sufficient. The OCCF encouraged all 36 counties to create local children and families commissions. In Marion County, we took this notion one step further by supporting the development of community progress teams representing every community in our county by high school boundary area. Today, Marion County has created one of the most integrated systems for supports and services for children and families in the state.
Our Mission
To assure every child and family an equal opportunity to attain their full potential.
